My work deals with the current crime situation in the country and with how it is starting to affect our collective psyche. It addresses the repercussions and general feeling of unease, fear and personal emotions that individuals are experiencing.
Personally, I want it to be instantly recognizable as my own but it must also reflect a South African "mood and feel" - for example: that certain X- factor sound that only SA rock bands have that make them
raw and unique. I try to achieve this visually.
My passion is fine art, and finally I have the time to pursue it, so these works are what I have started building up since Jan 2008.
I have a B Tech Fine Art (cum laude). By day I'm a museum exhibition designer.
For that I have an extensive CV and visual portfolio but I am a new "outsider" in the art world. Therefore I would describe my work loosely as "outsider art". It has been described as quirky and pessimistic, thought provoking. and with a strong identity but enjoyable.
