John-Clive lives in Rosebank, Cape Town. He's been drawing and painting ever since he can remember, but came alive as an artist when he went to art school in Kent in the UK and for the first time came across people who made him realise that 'making pictures' could be a way of life.
He came to South Africa as a young graphic designer and made a career for himself in the industry as a designer/photographer eventually starting up his own design/communication business.
In the last ten years, painting has come back into sharper focus and he is now painting full time. With a background in the print world he has been able to reproduce many of his original paintings as digital prints in different sizes as well as a range of extraordinarily popular art cards.
In terms of subject matter, he travels extensively around the Western Cape and turns his brush to whatever scene or scape catches his eye, or lens, at the time. People are his special target though and to quote a well-known phrase he says, 'There's always a Picture'.
