Sonja Rademeyer presents Looking to See in the Artstrip. This mixed media body of work investigates the body's visceral reaction to images of violence. Rademeyer attempts to track her own saccadic eye-movements through her hand movements as she reacts to selected violent newspaper clippings. After completing the eye-movement drawings the original image is erased leaving the viewer to imagine what the original image may or may not have portrayed. Looking to See is part of Rademeyers ongoing investigation on empathy and the body.
